Seminar at Utkal University on “Crops of Life”
Utkal University organized a two days seminar and screening of special film on “Crops of Life: Cereal Cultures in the Highlands of Odisha, India” on 6th and 7th February 2026 at G9, CII Building, Utkal University and Department of Anthropology, Utkal University.
Lecture at the University of Mumbai
As part of a research visit, Prof. Roland Hardenberg and Prof. Peter Berger gave a lecture entitled “Social Change, Values, and the Theory of the Event: Examples from India” at the University of Mumbai on February 4, 2026.


Science Brunch: “Biocultural Diversity”

On December 8, 2025, representatives of the Senckenberg Society, Goethe University, and the Frobenius Institute met for a “science brunch” at the invitation of the Frobenius Institute. The aim was to informally exchange ideas regarding possible project collaborations on the topic of “biocultural diversity.”
Plant Knowledge in the Caucasus

Participation in the LOEWE Center “Dynamics of Religion”

In late summer 2025, the LOEWE Center “Dynamics of Religion: Ambivalent Neighborhoods between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Historical and Contemporary Constellations” was approved by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art, and Culture (HMWK).

Once a year, the Frobenius Institute awards the Frobenius Research Prize for outstanding ethnological dissertations in German-speaking countries at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
