Each winter semester, the Frobenius Institute hosts a colloquium on ongoing research, inviting international scholars in cultural anthropology and related disciplines to present their current research projects. The colloquium is characterized by its diversity of topics, regional contexts, and disciplines, and serves to foster the discursive, dialogic, and critical acquisition of knowledge. The in-person interactions at the colloquium are also intended to facilitate the establishment and strengthening of academic collaborations.

This years colloquium will focus on two main themes. The first will address human-plant relationships and ethnological multispecies research. This theme is linked to the Frobenius institute's current participation in the "Biocultural Diversity" network at Goethe-University. Second the program will feature presentations on religious communities, which contribute to the LOEWE Center "Dynamics of the Religious".
