Terms and conditions for ordering images
Provision fee
Publishable image files are only provided upon conclusion of a usage agreement. We charge a provision fee of €28 for the provision of a publishable file. Image deliveries subject to a charge are made after advance payment.
Processing fee
If no publishable image file for the desired motif is available at the time of ordering, an additional processing fee of €30 per image will be charged.
Copyright fees
No copyright fees are normally imposed on materials supplied for scientific or educational uses. For any commercial uses, the net tariffs of VG-Bild-Kunst apply. If any of our images are reproduced either in print form (book or article) or on storage media (CD, DVD, film), the user will provide the Frobenius Institute with a copy, unsolicited and free of charge.
Reproductions of rock art copies for private use
All rock art copies are available in digital form, in a quality that allows facsimile printing in original size. Since the originals were digitized at great expense, we charge copyright fees. Based on the net fees charged by VG-Bild-Kunst, a fee of €423/sqm is charged for reproductions. For purely private use (not for exhibition), we offer a 60% discount on this fee.
