Marius M. Heimer studied Ethnology at undergraduate level and Social and Cultural Anthropology at postgraduate level in Frankfurt, focusing on southern Ethiopia. He specialises in research on Ethiopia and his most recent thematic focus has been the anthropology of sport. Employed by our institute as an IT specialist, he is responsible for improving the digital infrastructure, enhancing the quality of research data, converting existing data sets into standardised formats, preparing training courses for employees and raising awareness of IT security issues. He also assists with various press and public relations activities.
