After studying German Studies and Cultural and Social Anthropology (B.A. in 2012) as well as Political Science and Economics (B.A. in 2015) in Münster and Warsaw, Maike Melles completed her M.A. in International Studies/Peace and Conflict Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt and Technical University Darmstadt in 2017. Since July 2017, she has been a research associate at the Frobenius Institute and is doing her PhD study in the context of the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 1070 “ResourceCultures” (University of Tübingen). In 2019, she was elected vice speaker of the Environmental Anthropology Working Group (AG Umweltethnologie) of the German Anthropological Association (DGSKA). Her research within the SFB project “Use of the Resource Landscape and Sociocultural Change on the Iberian Peninsula” is dedicated to the southern Spanish dehesa and the social dynamics and valorisation this landscape undergoes.
