Humboldt Fellow from Kyrgyzstan at the Frobenius Institute

KadyrbekovaFrom September to December 2022, Prof. Dr. Pamira Kadyrbekova will be at the Frobenius-Institut as a Humboldt Fellow.

She is a professor of German Studies, Comparative Linguistics and Intercultural Studies and has many years of experience as a researcher at the Kyrgyz National Jusup Balasagyn University in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. As part of her academic work, she has already completed several research stays as a Humboldt Fellow at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

During her research stay at the Frobenius Institute she will work on the topic “Communicative Behavior of Germans and Kyrgyz”. The research will be conducted within the communicative anthropocentric paradigm. The focus is on verbal and nonverbal behavior of people in communication. The aim is to provide a systematic and complex description of Communicative Behavior in Germany and Kyrgyzstan, as well as to identify the general and specific features of communication that have historically emerged on the basis of socio-cultural relations and cultural values.
