The Frobenius-Institute presented its music collection of African popular music to the African Music Archives (AMA), located at Mainz University's Department of Anthropology and African Studies.

The collection alone counts a total of 481 audio carriers (16 shellac-records, 30 vinyl-records, 115 CDs and 320 cassettes). It is a valuable contribution to the AMA, and is a further testimony to the AMA's unique role as a public archive of African popular music in the German-speaking and European countries.    Press statement of Mainz University
